How To: Make Lips look Plump without a Plumper

"Plumped Lip" Illusion

This is an ad from Maybelline endorsing Baby Lips chapstick. Look closely at her lips. The bright shine is on the center of her bottom lip and the outer-edge lining of her upper lip. If you take a very light shade of lip liner and line your upper lip, it will look like light is reflecting off of your lip, creating the illusion of plumper lips.

Apply chapstick (most will do) before you go to sleep. The next morning your lips will be soft and supple.

The next morning: First take the light lip liner and line your upper lip, mostly at the Cupid's Arch.

Use your finger and dab the line that you created to smudge it and eliminate the harsh, unrealistic looking line.

Take the same liner and dab it (Do not draw and/or color in, this WON'T work) onto the center of your bottom lip and spread about a centimeter wide. Make sure there are no harsh lines.

Use your finger to smudge more. Now you're done.
